Levi Comstock

Since he graduated with a B.M. in music education from St. Olaf College, Levi Comstock has been active as a performer, private lessons teacher, and conductor.  Levi has studied classical viola with Charles Gray, Beverly Scott, and Csaba Erdelyi, but also enjoys performing in alternative styles, taking runner-up in the 2009 MN State Fair Twin Fiddle Competition.

In college, Levi traveled to Spain and Norway with the St. Olaf Orchestra, performing for crowned heads and sold-out venues. He currently plays with the Lirica Chamber Ensemble, of which he is a founding member.

He also plays viola, guitar, and does vocals at coffee shops and special event gigs with Clover Bridge Calamity, a folk-jazz-bluegrassical trio.

Levi enjoys teaching students of all ages to love the viola as much as he does.  He teaches private lessons at Schmitt Music and substitute teaches in three districts, where he has filled in for weeks at a time in various orchestra classrooms.

Last fall, Levi donned an Oompa-Loompa suit to conduct the Osseo Senior High pit orchestra in a production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Levi was founder and president of the St. Olaf College ASTA chapter, and he is proud to serve as member-at-large in the MN Viola Society.
